One of the most favourite team for Singaporeans. Watch this team in the next world cup. They are a young and vibrant team. With the new manager Mr Steve, I guess a transformation of the football system over there will make them a team fit to be champion in the next world cup. It's still not complete for the latest finals.. but one day it will be a complete team in 4 years time. Cross our fingers guys...btw I hope the system over there do not place too much foreign players in their league eg. Chelsea...(good training ground for local lads too but how many of their local boys get to play for Chelsea)

From the coffeshops to pubs around Singapore, for 30 days, lack of sleep...2006
Watch this and imagine Singapore playing in 2016. Ask yourself this:

What is the feeling like to play with millions watching around the world?
What is the feeling when my Singapore team scores?
What is the feeling like if a Singapore team in the World Cup Finals...(sure confirm i go and watch live anywhere in the world..no more coffeeshop or at home watch world cup for the past 6 world cup finals i watched) I can imagine that i will cry when our national anthem being played in the stadium and i will remember the years of watching our local boys play in Singapore ever since S League started and now they are in the world cup finals...i know my singapore boys can make it to that standard of the world cup finals.sure or not you may ask..am i dreaming or wat..or too much soccer..well during the world cup month i did my research..hmm..actually the good news is that our soccer boys have improve quite tremendously..with the experience of playing with my Turkish classmates in Newcastle..around 3 years before Turkey manage to get to the semi finals..my Turkish freiends who used to play in their local clubs really amazed me with their skills...but now 2006 when i watched our local boys play in Singapore the standard is almost equivalent as the level of standards my friends in Turkey 7 years ago...it's a matter of expediting the levels of standards of World Cup Finals calibre...we need our boys to be stationed in Europe for good..have our local FAS staff to run the show over there as managers or agents for the players...then we'll get to see our boys play in Europe clubs...or send the young lions play in the league over in Europe..just like the japanese team play in our league...then we'll see our boys going to South Africa for the World Cup Finals...even we lose all the 1st round match i dun mind as long we get our flag and national anthem being played during the World Cup finals will be my dream come true for the country call my Singapore.BTW our Fifa rankings has shown improvement comapred to other Asean countries we are ranked 111 as of today in the world.
Win or Lose..the country in the finals wins definitely. Do you know that economically, any country that plays in the World Cup Finals will and with proven record from past world cup finals have improved the country income economically. based on G&S report..

Tactical or Technical?

I was watching the world cup today at a nearby coffeeshop. It has a huge TV for a lot of people to watch. But there were not many audience today as i realised later that it was the rest day for the teams that qualify for the quater finals. And that huge TV was showing all the goals that were scored by the different 32 teams in the first round. First thing that kept my attention as to how and when the teams scored the goals. I noticed there is a difference between bad,new, good or giant teams score goals. The build up to the goals really interest me. I noticed the good or giant teams like France,Germany Brazil are very technical and mix with tactical that makes them stands out from the bad or new teams. If you watch carefully on these team players out of the ratio of 11 players per team at least 7 -9 players (world star players) in a layman terms, have mastered the fundamentals technicalilities of soccer way before the world cup. And the tacticals is being drilled perhaps a couple of months before the finals in germany. Whereas the bad or new team, the players technicalities is a bit on the down side and we have not touched on the tacticals aspect of it. I noticed it is either the new or bad teams do not have both or only has one aspect. One aspect that most new or bad team have are technical. Tactical aspect i believe they have not reach the stage yet.It is because the coach felt the players are new in mastering the technicals, and a lot of room to improve at world cup standards. And tacticals will be adopted at the next world cup should they qualify again for the finals.Well the way these bad team or new players to the world cup played in their games i can see the lack of world cup level tactics unlike the giants or past world cup winners or potential winners after years of trying hard in the finals.

If a team is too tecnical, i noticed they lack the tactics to win the game for the country. Tactics come in many uniquely of their own. If you watch Latino players and european team play you'll see the different. But when i see Asian and african players
play its almost the copycat of both. Hmmm...i wish more uniquely tactics were adopted for them even on the technicalities too looks the same for the new or bad team...maybe their coaches were trained by the latin or european academy for coaches.

The Boxin Match

I remember when there was a boxing match coming up on the weekend, many posters will be pasted on the street walls.At that time i wasn't interested in boxing at all, but the posters A4 size really attracts my curiousity of not more than 15 seconds. On the poster it stated who the boxers were( i dun have a clue who they were), the venue and the time of match.I wonder what type of peope on earth will go and watch this type of boxing match. The posters are in black and white and i have no clue who the boxers were and the venue is just a small gym nearby my friend's place and the match is on Saturday nite.
At my age that time, Saturday nite is the nite when i visit the clubs to check out my friends with good or bad music from the DJs whom i known from the ad posters posted in my uni. Thus I was still far from the thought of attending a boxing game in a small gym.
However,after a few months,one day i did manage to get to see a boxing match which really makes me understand what is human passion,entertainment and adrenalin and many more. Why is boxing is so popular, well to know more, i guess you have to go and watch it yourself then.

Local Hobby to Global Event

As i walked home from work, i pass my favourite jogging spot ie. amk garden. At the amk garden there is this club call amk bird club. Almost everyday there is always at least 1 or 2 local bird owners hang their bird cages there. And i found out from these club members that they are 'training' their birds to sing there. And they told me that they also get their bird to enter bird singning competitions locally or overseas. And of course today i am glad after waiting for almost 2 years since i moved around this area, the club have their own website call www.birds.com.sg i visited their website and its not ready yet even though they mentioned that they had an opening ceremony on Febuary 19th 2006. Well keep our finger cross, one day we'll get world class birds to compete in Singapore with celebrities such as Victoria Beckham or Sir Cliff Richard to watch bird singing competion here.
