2 B or Not 2 B

I was in the train after work today. I saw two
pregnant lady seating next to each other. Three guys
of not less than 60 years old and yet they still
working. For the pregant ladies it's for the good
future of the bloke in their tummy that makes them
work. But the 3 old blokes they work coz i guess they
need the money for their medical or final honeymoon.

However when i think of the future I imaginatively
worried what if then one day nobody will take or
afford the train anymore after work.
Instead they stayed at home because they are jobless
or unemployable anymore.

As i arrived the mrt station, i took the trouble
observe and try to grasp the estimate the number of
people leaving the station at one time during peak
hours around not less than 200. I hope in a few years
or months it will be more or the same...hahaha.

Dreams + Aspirations vs Reality?

Its hard to understand this formula.

Everybody has DREAMS i.e. to be the cleverest, skillfull, happiest, richest, popular helpful, etc in their life of average 65-80 plus years of lifespan.

Everybody has ASPIRATIONS i.e. to be the cleverest, skillfull, happiest, richest, popular helpful, etc in their life of average 65-80 plus years of lifespan.

Everybody has REALITY i.e. limited means, not so clever, not so rich,etc...

I wonder how the ratios or formula works out to make the dream of a person who aspire to be rich for example become a reality. And what are the elements eg environment, timing etc that corelate or has an effect to the ratios formula.

I have these weird dream to be as agile as a monkey and apsire to be the most agile by the age of 40years old. The reality is i have to work on my physical being, routinely get support from my family friends colleagues physiotheraphy, ligament speacialist the way i eat, sleep, excercise, talk in order to focus on my weird dream to be agile. However going through makes me think how world champions like gymnastics, badminton, table tennis were developed since the age of 5-8 years old. What makes them perservere and be world champions.

Perhaps they do not have dreams when they were so young, its their supporters eg parents who dreams for them. At later stage the aspirations were instill into these kids when they can make choices and think in a rationale manner. reality is that parents dreams for their kids and kids apsire and make their parents dreams come true except for the late skill or natural talent bloomers.

The dreams belongs to who?

Renew or reinvent?

I have these two word playing on my mind for the past few months i.e. what is the difference between renew and reinvent?

This is what i thought:

Renew is to get something that you make sure it never dies.
For example like my licences, i make sure all my licences are renewed on time way before it renewal date due so that my licences will not die on me. I love continuity and hate disruptions.

Reinvent is to get something that is to be different from the normal stuff.
For example like these children shoes with wheels at the back heel of it. it's still a shoe but it comes with wheels. Well i see children wearing can move faster than their parents and they don't tire easily. That is reinvent. The functions of shoes has increased. and i bet the kids thinks it's a fashion to have wheels on their shoes. Soon i may see adult wearing those too.

Ha ha ha..so which one comes first renew or reinvent?

Badminton & Coaches Here?

Badminton in Singapore is one of the hot sports just like soccer. I feel lots more things can be done to make badminton as a main sports and part of Singaporean lifestyle.

Why Badminton?

I picked up badminton again after leaving the game almost more than 15 years ago. I played and represented for my primary and secondary schools since i was 12 years old. I remember once i used to play almost everyday with my neighbours and classmates using the gate entrance of my house as the badminton net. Each time a car passes by we have to stop the game for our safety of course. Well those were the days.

Now i have been playing again with new found friends ever since i met from the Singapore Badminton Association during the last Singapore Badminton Open 2004. Both my friends are coaches and one of them is also a badminton umpire.

Well, badminton is a unique sports unlike rugby or soccer or even tennis. Btw i am a tennis player at comeptitive level. I started badminton earlier than tennis. Uniquely badminton is that it can attract people from all walks of life to play it. Little children, teenagers, aunties, uncles, yuppies etc...i saw them playing badminton.
Its simple, clean, less or no physical contact and accessible. Well the only barrier if you play badminton on an outdoor court is the windy climate here.

There are many badminton outdoor courts around the housing estates. It can be interesting to play at $3.50 per hour rental indoor sports halls there's no wind and i can meet good certified badminton coaches alongside their players.

Welcome 2005 with a WASH OUT !!

It was on BOXING DAY that the wash out or what they called it "Tsunami" hit ASIA n part of Africa. It was a big disaster for the ASIANs particularly neighbouring countries such as Thailand,Malaysia,Indonesia. Currently the death toll stands at 150,000 dead. I fear more dead bodies will be unravel in the next few weeks. Aids are coming in like never before. I observe there are lots of activities in foreign aids for the badly stricken countries such as Indonesia : Aceh and Sri Lanka : Galle and other parts of its coastal areas.

Well, it is modernisation in progress put it like a blessing in disguise from GOD.
I feel a lot of modernisation opportunities are forthcoming for those people especially in rural and hard to reach areas like in Banda Acheh. If the foreign aids are able to modernise these areas with the support from the locals leaders we will see a a NEW Asia within the next 10 years. Rebuilding, reeducation and all the re's...we never know what these disaster will bring to light in the next 10 years.

Immediate Needs

Shelter: How many makeshifts tents or containers needed to shelter those victims. I suggest they build it like those construction workers stay near the construction site. i find it quite good for a temporary shelter.

Food : I wonder how many cooks will be employed to feed those hungry victims for the next few months.

Medical: Well here is good opportunity for our health care indsutry to do marketing their services. Hmmm...we the best in Asia.

Rebuilding needs such as

Housing : construction, planning etc...i think HDB or local contractors may assist them especially in Sri Lanka or Indonesia later in the next 5 months. So there will be jobs for those in Singapore.

Economy: Trade earnings have to be rebuild..i hope the include technologies as well..like the internet phones too.!!

Education: I saw lots of children are dead, perhaps education for adults are important especially in moderniising and globalising their perspectives. Well the adults can make children...a better and safer place living for them in the near future.

That is my thoughts that come running each time i watched BBC or CNN on my 21'inch TV till the wee hours.

I have to go and rst now after 8 hrs of watching and pondering the effects of natural disaster that hit Asia.
