Welcome 2005 with a WASH OUT !!

It was on BOXING DAY that the wash out or what they called it "Tsunami" hit ASIA n part of Africa. It was a big disaster for the ASIANs particularly neighbouring countries such as Thailand,Malaysia,Indonesia. Currently the death toll stands at 150,000 dead. I fear more dead bodies will be unravel in the next few weeks. Aids are coming in like never before. I observe there are lots of activities in foreign aids for the badly stricken countries such as Indonesia : Aceh and Sri Lanka : Galle and other parts of its coastal areas.

Well, it is modernisation in progress put it like a blessing in disguise from GOD.
I feel a lot of modernisation opportunities are forthcoming for those people especially in rural and hard to reach areas like in Banda Acheh. If the foreign aids are able to modernise these areas with the support from the locals leaders we will see a a NEW Asia within the next 10 years. Rebuilding, reeducation and all the re's...we never know what these disaster will bring to light in the next 10 years.

Immediate Needs

Shelter: How many makeshifts tents or containers needed to shelter those victims. I suggest they build it like those construction workers stay near the construction site. i find it quite good for a temporary shelter.

Food : I wonder how many cooks will be employed to feed those hungry victims for the next few months.

Medical: Well here is good opportunity for our health care indsutry to do marketing their services. Hmmm...we the best in Asia.

Rebuilding needs such as

Housing : construction, planning etc...i think HDB or local contractors may assist them especially in Sri Lanka or Indonesia later in the next 5 months. So there will be jobs for those in Singapore.

Economy: Trade earnings have to be rebuild..i hope the include technologies as well..like the internet phones too.!!

Education: I saw lots of children are dead, perhaps education for adults are important especially in moderniising and globalising their perspectives. Well the adults can make children...a better and safer place living for them in the near future.

That is my thoughts that come running each time i watched BBC or CNN on my 21'inch TV till the wee hours.

I have to go and rst now after 8 hrs of watching and pondering the effects of natural disaster that hit Asia.
