It's been a roller coaster year of 2003. It's been 10 months i blogged. As usual, I 've been very busy with my life as an entreprenuer. 2 months ago, I just moved into my own home. A stone throw away from my father in law house. Almost 30 days of holiday i had was spent preparing my new own home. I painted myself my own 3 room flat which cost 154k. It's quite a cosy home. It's facing a garden where i get to jog every morning nowadays. My wife like the small flat as it is easy to maintained. Life is the same gain for me as i have lived on my own for a couple of years overseas. I got the electrical and household appliances etc. All cost of setting up the home at around 8k. I enjoyed doing those stuffs even though it burnt my pocket for quite a bit. As long my wife is happy i am fine with all the spending. Now i get to cook on my own! Honestly, i prefer my mom's cooking. My neighbour is a Malay family. They are friendly people. I also find living in a flat is a new adventure for me since i have stayed in a landed property half of my life already.
As an entreprenuer, i some sort of switch off for a quite a bit since the global economy is really uncertain for 2003. Its a good time to take a professional break with less meetings and consulting work this year. I managed to do some reflection with regards to the future of my business www.ebci.biz
This year 2003 i worked with three wonderful consultants with different expertise. Mr Razak specialise in media marketing and formerly from Media Corp Radio managed to make me understand the population of Singapore sentiment towards the media in Singapore. It is a powerful medium as far as radio and television were concerned in SIngapore. A big influence in Singapore.
The second person i worked with was Mr Ong a.ka. JK. He is an mechanical and electronics engineer. He specialises in robotics. He thinks and work like a robot too! He managed to teach me how to think and work with client's business systematically. An advantage for having him was that he was able to transform a messy business process into a smooth and systematic organisation such as Hjh Maimunah Restaurant. He has to end his stint in Singapore as he has to complete his defence for his Doctorate in a UK unviverstiy on April 2004. He intends to open a branch in UK so as to assist www.ebci.biz in getting clients from Europe.
The third consultant i am working now with is a lawyer of 13 years experience. She is a wonderful person but have been burnt out during her lawyering days. Now she is kind of recollecting the bits and pieces of she has left in her life. I am trying to gain her confidence that she can still perform her best. "The best is yet to come!"
I hope Year 2004 will be a REAL NEW YEAR ! US economy has shown tremendous imporvements. Asian market is growing at an alarming phase during the 3rd and 4th quarter of 2003. However it is cooling down whickh i think ought to be if not Asia will be in trouble at the later stage of 2004 if the economy grew too fast.
Well i have to say that 2003 has been the most boring yet a rejuvenating year for me.
